After much wiggling and whatnot, Michael lost his first baby tooth tonight. It’s been loose for a week or so, and he’s been wiggling it for days… finally he decided it was time for it to come out (it was apparently bothering him too much to be able to go to sleep).
After attempting to yank it out with just fingers (mine are just too big), we decided to give it a go with some string (well, sewing thread actually… it was so close to the next tooth that regular string probably wouldn’t have worked).
Several attempts later I was beginning to think it wasn’t going to come out… the thread kept slipping off or breaking. We found some slightly stronger thread and doubled it up and after a little tugging, pop! Out it came.
Michael was rather pleased with himself, and was showing everyone the hole left by the extraction. He was also a little excited about the prospect of the tooth fairy showing up with some loot for the tooth.
Matthew has a loose tooth as well, but it’s not as far along as Michael’s was. But probably before Christmas.
